For the past three or four months, I have been preoccupied with life and have not completed all the reading I wanted, so I’m sharing my January and February 2025 reading list containing a repeat of books I said I would have previously read but didn’t get to. I’ve also added a couple of new books to the list.

I’m always looking for suggestions for good books to read, so if you have any, please tell me about them in the comments section of this post. I’d love to hear from you. You will notice that two of the novels I’m listing this time are written by Charles Martin and are older novels. The reason is simple: I’m a huge fan of Charles Martin, and I’m gradually trying to catch up on his back catalog while preparing for his fourth book in the Keeper series (Murphy Shepherd novels), which is promised to be released this spring. I’m really looking forward to revisiting this series since I loved the original trilogy. Mr. Martin is a writing hero of mine, and if I could ever come close to writing as beautifully as he does, I would be happy.

Here is the list of books I want to read over the next two months:

1.        The Record Keeper by Charles Martin

2.        What We Hide by Colleen Coble and Rick Acker

3.        Water from My Heart by Charles Martin

4.        Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (I must confess, I’m a little addicted to the TV series based on this novel and its sequels. I warn you, it is a little on the risqué side!)

5.        Soul Care: 7 Transformational Principles for A Healthy Soul by Dr. Rob Reimer

Just a heads-up: I’m currently brainstorming a Romantasy novel tentatively called The Amulet. It’s still in the brainstorming stage, but I’m excited since it will be the first romance/fantasy novel I have ever written. It will be a challenge, to be sure!

Next week’s blog post will continue the Story Structure Series by exploring the Hero’s Journey. Make sure to return to learn about this popular structure for creating adventure stories.
